Campus Center Laptop Checkout Pool Moved to the Library 1/21/2016

Starting Thursday, January 21, 2016, laptops will no longer be available at the Information Desk in the Campus Center. Campus Activities and Operations, in conjunction with the Library and ITS, has decided to move the laptop check-out service to the Library. This will provide more options for students, staff, and faculty.  The library provides Dell PC laptops, MacBooks, iPads and Chromebooks. For more information, see Laptops for check-out.

Web Access Problems Resolved

Several people reported problems accessing different portions of Macalester's Web site yesterday and this morning.  You may have seen a message reading "Error: Service Temporarily  Unavailable."  ITS staff have worked with dotCMS, our Web management vendor, and these problems seem to be resolved.  We will continue to monitor our Web site.  If you encounter Web problems, please report them to the ITS Help Desk at 651-696-6525.

Network Maintenance Day, Saturday January 9

ITS staff will conduct a regular system maintenance period on Saturday January 9, 2016, from 6:00 AM until 12:00 noon.  We will be performing upgrades, testing connections, patching and doing other tasks to keep our critical campus information systems running efficiently.

This will be a more extensive maintenance period than usual. Our entire network, both wired and wireless, will be intermittently out of service for upgrades during the maintenance period.  Internet service will be unavailable from approximately 6:00 to 7:30 AM.
