  • QuickViews within datablocks are now called dashboards. 
  • Reports and data are unchanged.

Macalester Email Access Trifecta!

The easiest way to access your Macalester email: Go to macalester.edu, select log in and then gooogle apps.



No matter where you go, you can always access your Macalester email directly, with 2 New Ways to Access Macalester Email and Google Apps.

New way #1: Go to mail.google.com/a/macalester.edu. Enter your Macalester username and password. Click Sign in.



New way #2: Go to www.gmail.com. Enter your full Macalester email address (username@macalester.edu) as Username. Enter your password. Click Sign in.


Connections to email via mobile devices remain unchanged. However, if you log into email using a mobile web browser, use one of the two new ways.

Replace any Google Apps bookmarks with: mail.google.com/a/macalester.edu. Read more about bookmark basics.

Banner, 1600grand Maintenance Saturday 3/23/13

Banner and 1600grand will be unavailable Saturday, March 23, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon.  Both systems will be undergoing scheduled maintenance. Outbound Long Distance Calling Problem Fixed

Update: As of 9:15 AM, the problem seems to be resolved.  Outbound long distance calling services are working normally.  If you experience  any telephone problems, please call Kelly Borke at 696-6566. 

Original alert: As of Thursday morning March 14, we are unable to make long distance calls from the campus telephone system.  Incoming long distance calls, as well as both incoming and outgoing local calls, seem to be unaffected. We are working with our vendor to fix this problem as quickly as possible.

Network Maintenance Day Coming March 16, 2013

ITS staff will conduct a regular system maintenance period on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 6:00 AM until 12:00 noon. We will be performing upgrades, testing connections, patching and doing other tasks to keep our critical campus information systems running efficiently.

Please expect that most networked services will be down, completely or intermittently, during the maintenance period. including:

  • Banner
  • 1600grand
  • DegreeWorks 
  • PaperCut-based printing



Google Email and Internet access should NOT be affected.
