Network and Telephone Problems Resolved

The telephone and voicemail problems we reported earlier were caused by a larger network outage that occurred at about 4:00 PM this afternoon.  This outage interrupted network services in some areas of campus, primarily residence halls.  Network staff responded immediately and identified approximately 20 switches that needed to be restarted.  These reboots appear to have resolved the problems.  We will continue monitoring our network to prevent a recurrence.
